Make it happen

Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan until the syrup turns a light amber colour.

Remove from the heat and carefully stir in cream and salt, then whisk smooth.

Heat the milk until steaming, and brew the coffee.

Stir a quarter of the warm caramel into each of four mugs of coffee and finish with hot milk.
